Tapis noir Slim Warp Dot Scarf
The Slim Warp Dot Scarf is made from two delicate, soft pieces of silk crepe de chine sewn together as a twilly. The inspiration for this print came mainly from late 18th century french printed fabrics. It was very popular in this periode to create designs with stripes, where there would be printed flowers in between the stripes. While looking at our own archive of antique fabrics, we thought it would be fun to replace the flowers with a small graphic chevron, which came from a middle-eastern fabric swatch we had. So while the print feels french, it's actually a combination of those two styles.
The two sides have different prints: one with our interpretation of an understated French warp print in two blue-green tones with a light grey background and the other a solid soft pink colour with a mint green graphical element. The scarf has pointy ends, making it easy to tie in a number of different ways.
